Change Jamaica Now is an organised group of Jamaicans that does not put up candidates for election, but seeks to influence government policies and legislation. We can also be described as a ‘interest group’, ‘lobby group’ or ‘protest group’. The aim is to change the laws and/or influence public opinions.

Jamaica’s overall economic freedom is hurt by significant corruption and relatively high government spending. Excessive public debt renders Jamaica’s fiscal situation unstable. Efforts to restrict spending have generally fallen short. Undermining anti-corruption efforts, the judicial system remains inefficient and clogged by a significant backlog of cases.

Providing solutions is just as important as identifying problems.
